As a technology consultant for 15 years, I specialise in digital transformation strategy in the financial sector, particularly in fintech. When I started thinking about the transition from salaried employee to consultant, colleagues in my IT network quickly recommended AQIII to me, even though I was still thinking about it. Becoming a member provided me with concrete and reassuring answers, thanks in particular to the relevant information I found on the website, such as the salary scale and advice on trough periods. It helped me clarify my thoughts and get started. The welcome extended to new members and the invitation to take part in events such as the 5 à 7s were highlights for me. It was a rewarding event, full of concrete information. One of AQIII’s major assets is its industry portrait, a unique document that helps members and non-members alike to better situate themselves in the market. To my knowledge, it’s the only association to offer such a tool. I had my first experience as a member in 2017 before renewing my membership in 2023. Passionate about the technology ecosystem, businesses and the key role of SMEs in the Quebec economy, I want to actively contribute to an organisation that supports those who, like me, make the choice to become a consultant. It’s a real life decision, and it’s essential to put this choice forward. Women in leadership is a subject that is particularly close to my heart. In recent years, we’ve seen more women in leadership positions, but the statistics remain stagnant at around 20%. I’m optimistic, but it has to be said that the results are not commensurate with the efforts made. Despite all the initiatives put in place, progress remains limited.
